E3S Eurosense Student Award 2026 – Pedro Manuel Sousa
EuroSense 2026 was a fantastic experience and a great opportunity to share my research with the sensory and consumer science community, while also learning from so many exciting developments in the field. Presenting my work in Oslo and exchanging ideas with researchers from across the world made the conference particularly rewarding. Receiving the E3S Student Award was an incredibly special way to mark the end of my PhD journey. It was a wonderful recognition of the work we have been doing to explore speech and vocal behaviour as new sources of insight into consumers’ experiences with food, and I am very grateful to E3S for this recognition. Having recently completed my PhD at the University of Porto, I am now continuing as a Research Fellow at FCUP, where I hope to further develop this research and explore how speech-based and multimodal approaches can contribute to a richer and more natural understanding of consumer experience
