Our approved methodologies and multidisciplinary approaches make our field the undisputed provider of valuable information for innovation. This year’s theme casts the light on how sensory science expands to the profit of new markets. We will explore all innovations allowing sensory science to bloom; new applications, new methodologies, new categories.

Our curiosity is limitless and we are welcoming proposals on a wide variety of topics :

Novel sensory methodologies, tools and application

  • What are the latest sensory methodologies and tools, such as virtual reality, gaming and more?
  • How do they renew the practices of sensory analysis professionals?

Applications of sensory science in broader spectrum of industries

  • How does sensory science apply to emerging industries, among which wearable technology, sustainable materials but as well banking and insurances?
  • Besides food and beverages and cosmetics (historical sectors where sensory was first applied), what are the other fields of application to use sensory sciences? What are their approaches?

What defines a brand’s sensory identity?

  • Its visual and auditory cues, the sensory invariants of its products, and its territory of extension recognizing that some products may not align sensory-wise with the brand.

AI transformation of sensory

  • How is the use of AI transforming sensory science, what opportunities does it create for consumer-centric innovations?
  • What should be our best practices as sensory experts and market researchers?
  • Which guidelines do we take away for its ethical usage?

Submission Details

We invite researchers, professionals, and innovators to contribute to the annual E3S conference by sharing their work, perspectives, and breakthroughs for poster presentation. Abstracts should provide a clear overview of your research, method or case study, highlighting its relevance to the theme.

Proposal shall include:

  • Title
  • Authors’ names and affiliations
  • 5 keywords
  • 2 to 3 bibliographic references if applicable
  • Abstract (500 words)

The abstract should position the communication within its theoretical or practical framework. It should provide a detailed presentation of the approach and results.

Proposals are to be sent in word format with 1st author as file name (e.g. smith.doc) to: sfasenso@gmail.com

  • Abstract Submission:                                                                 20 March 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance:                                                      31 March 2025

You want to contribute? Come and share your achievements in front of a passionate audience. Together, let’s redefine what’s possible to expand the sensory territories.

Attendance Fees: Workshop, Working Group Meetings and the E3S General Assembly are free of charge, though require an online registration.
